A post only to apologise for the false reports of Man United’s deal dying for their main target from last summer’s window. After recently suggesting the negotiations broke down, the news changed quickly.
Man United have officially announced the arrival of long-term target, Bruno Fernandes. The player will join the Red Devils after completing a £68million deal, keeping him at the club for five-and-a-half-years with an option to go one further thereafter.

This is just the lift the club needed after a string of bad performances leading to poor results. Even though they beat their noisy neighbours 1-0 in the Carabao Cup semi-final second leg fixture, they still didn’t have enough creativity and firepower on the pitch.
With the attacking midfielder finally added to the ranks this will hopefully change for the Old Trafford club. But now the time has come…
For a public apology for speaking too soon
Warned heavily I was. Did not listen was the action I did. The outcome? Thoughts of making a time machine to travel back in time and change all the wrongdoings in my life.
What was I warned about? The source used as proof of United pulling out of a deal. Initially, site-expert Mahith Gamage reported Bruno Fernandes will become a United player before the window closes. Yet, any early news on the move appeared premature with United struggling to finish their business in recent windows.
After the site’s first reports were published news changed and moved fast, Manchester’s top target and links turned cold. It was widely suggested the English club’s hierarchy was not prepared to budge on their initial offer of £55 million. Their valuation of the attacking midfielder.
The holdup between the pair was said to be a few million pounds (£8m) off, a fee I should have known Ed Woodward had in his back pocket as spare change. Sadly I chose to go against my gut and sided with the Man United mole, Duncan Castle. Silly me!
Soon after releasing the false news, United worked swiftly while their fans battered Ed Woodward’s home (the worst event taking place this week), and just like that… I had to start thinking up a public apology.
Taking my pains like a man I must add, I am extremely happy I was wrong. The inclusion of Bruno Fernandes was a must for me.
Since the rumours, links, and talks surrounded the player and a possible move to the Premier League ignited, it got me inspired. Thankfully, United’s willingness to subdue to Sporting Lisbon’s asking price made it possible.
We are hoping he will make his debut come the weekend where Man United hosts Wolves. A must-win matchup against a lot of his [Bruno] countrymen. No doubt everybody will be keeping a close eye on the event.
