Fans react to former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s return to football with FIFA

Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is back in football for the first time since leaving the Emirates Stadium, according to the BBC.

They report that the Frenchman is back in the game for the first time since May 2018 after he agreed to become Fifa’s new chief of global football development.

Wenger said: “I very much look forward to taking on this extremely important challenge,” and his new role will apparently see him seek to improve the development of both the men’s and women’s game.

On top of boosting technical elements of football, Wenger is now be a member of the technical panel of the International Football Association Board, and chairman of Fifa’s technical study group.

And given the amount of time Wenger has spent out of the game, seeking the correct opportunity, his new role has attracted attention fans from across the world of football.

It’s not just Arsenal fans interested in his next move, although one on Twitter did say that he would happily take the Frenchman back in north London given the current struggles of Unai Emery.

For someone like Wenger who always lived and breathed the game, he was always likely to try and get back in although it remains to be seen how he gets on without the day to day of coaching a club, venturing into the unknown.
