The accolade was Klopp’s third in succession and fifth of the season, becoming the first manager in history to be named as Manager of the Month five times in a single Premier League campaign.
It was the eighth time Klopp has received the honour since moving to English football in 2015, but where does he rank amongst the most prolific recipients of the monthly award?

Jurgen Klopp – 8 awards
This month’s victory was Klopp’s eighth since becoming Liverpool manager four-and-a-half years ago, with five of those honours coming this season following the Merseyside club’s unbeaten start to the league season.
The Liverpool boss has so far claimed all but one of the Manager of the Month awards for the current campaign, with Chelsea’s Frank Lampard the only boss to have interrupted his dominance following a strong October for the west London side.
Currently on a 16-game winning run and 42-game unbeaten streak, the Reds are on the verge of securing a first league title in three decades and Klopp could yet extend his own record in the coming months.
Harry Redknapp – 8 awards
Having enjoyed a Premier League career that would span six clubs and over two decades, Redknapp would enjoy his best periods at the likes of West Ham, Portsmouth and Tottenham, winning eight Manager of the Month gongs throughout his career.
Alongside winning an award at each of that trio of clubs, Redknapp would also claim the honour in March 2005 whilst in charge of Southampton, though would ultimately fail to keep the club in the top-flight as they were relegated to the Championship.
Martin O’Neill – 8 awards
The Northern Irishman guided Leicester to promotion to the Premier League in 1996, before twice winning the League Cup with the Foxes and establishing the club at the highest level, winning three Manager of the Month awards between September of 1997 and November 1999.
Following a trophy-laden spell at Celtic, O’Neill would return to England’s top tier at Aston Villa and enjoy a successful four-year spell at Villa Park, turning the club into top four contenders and being named as the division’s Manager of the Month on four occasions before adding an eighth to his collection during his time at Sunderland.
David Moyes – 10 awards
The current West Ham boss is the highest ranking active manager in terms of Manager of the Month awards, having collected ten throughout a Premier League career that began 18 years ago.
Each of the Scot’s ten monthly awards would come during a hugely successful 11-year spell at Everton, turning the club into regular contenders for European football despite operating on a comparatively shoe-string budget to the majority of sides at the top end of the division.
Also named as LMA Manager of the Year on three occasions, Moyes will hope his current side can put together a run of form to move him into contention for the award once again as they currently battle for Premier League survival this season.
Arsene Wenger – 15 awards
An unsurprising name on this list, Wenger would win three league titles during a 22-year career at Arsenal, the longest reign of any manager throughout the Premier League era.
The Frenchman would arrive as a relative unknown from Japanese football before transforming the north London side’s fortunes with his pioneering methods, delivering two domestic doubles and a famed unbeaten season in the space of seven years in the early part of his Premier League career.
Wenger’s latter years were more difficult due to financial restrictions as Arsenal moved into the Emirates Stadium, though he would win eight of his monthly awards after the Gunners’ most recent title success in 2004, his tally of 15 the second-highest in Premier League history.
Sir Alex Ferguson – 27 awards
Comfortably the most successful manager in Premier League history, Manchester United icon Ferguson would deliver 13 league titles to Old Trafford during a glittering reign at the club.
The winner of the inaugural Manager of the Month in August of 1992, Ferguson would claim the award on a further 26 occasions, claiming the individual honour for the final time in October 2012 before his retirement from football the following year.
An 11-time winner of the Premier League’s Manager of the Season award and regarded by many as the greatest manager of all-time, Ferguson’s landmark is one unlikely to ever be bettered.
