Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has celebrated Pelumi Nubi over her inspirational feat which saw her travel from London, England to Lagos, Nigeria by road.
Nubi, whose journey saw her traveling by road for 68 days, was gifted a brand new car by Sanwo-Olu who also made her a Tourism Ambassador of Lagos State.
Apart from that, she got a customized plate number while she donated the vehicle she used for the trip to J Randle Center for Yoruba Culture and History as a monumental gift to Lagos State.
Sanwo-Olu praised Nubi, saying that every journey starts with a single step and her step from London to Lagos by road is nothing short of inspirational.
“It is a pleasure to congratulate Pelumi, now a Lagos Tourism Ambassador, whose resilience, positive energy, and unwavering spirit are truly worth emulating. A heartfelt thank you to her parents for nurturing such a remarkable soul,” Sanwo-Olu said.
“In recognition of her incredible feat, the State will take over her entire bill for the trip, she has also received a brand new car and an apartment in Lagos, ensuring her journey continues on a path of success.”
Sanwo-Olu while thanking her for a job well done, added that he is very impressed because he believes that Nubi’s dedication will light the way for others, and the Lagos State Government is thrilled to support her as she blazes forward.
Nubi also expressed gratitude to Sanwo-Olu and the Lagos State Government for their support and gifts with a post on her X handle.
“Thank you sooo much, Sir. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for your incredibly generous gifts . Your kindness and support mean more to me than words can express,” she posted.
