The Prairies are often referred to as Canada’s Bread Basked, but there’s a lot more to our cuisine than just wheat.
A new dinner series is celebrating the food created from the Rockies to the Ontario boundary.
The Prairie Grid dinners are the brainchild of food website eatnorth.com.
Writer and co-founder of eatnorth.com, Dan Clapson says it involves five chefs and four cities; Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Winnipeg.
“What they’re going to do is travel around to each of the cities, bringing with them regional ingredients and cooking a five course dinner to celebrate the Canadian Prairies as a whole.
He says other Prairie-based businesses will also be featured, from dinnerware and knife makers, to the designers of a custom t-shirt.
