Nollywood Yoruba Actors donate money to their chosen political candidate

Earlier, it was reported that Nollywood actors took to showing their support for their preferred Lagos gubernatorial candidate. With music, dance and drama, these artistes went all out to show who their loyalty belongs to. In the same accord, these actors have taken to endorsing their choice presidential candidate These Nollywood actors did not just show their support by word of mouth, they actually put action into it. This they did by donating money to this candidate who they solely support. Under the auspices of the Theatre Arts and Motion Picture Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN), the likes of Prince Jide Kosoko, Yinka Quadri, Ayo Adesanya, Bolaji Amusan, Lasun Ray and Yemi Solade and other gathered en masse to present a cheque to their favourite presidential candidate. Babatunde Raji Fashola, the minister of works, power and housing, represented the actors’ choice candidate in collecting the cheque. He took photos with them and extended his gratitude to TAMPAN for their support. From what is written in the cheque, it is obvious the entertainers donated a sum of N500,000 to show their support for their chosen presidential candidate As the 2019 presidential election approaches, it is clear that many Nigerians are picking sides and falling in line with the candidates they feel would represent them accordingly. This time, celebrities are even more vocal in showing and voicing out their support. While these Yoruba actors are actively supporting a preferred party, singer Davido is also showing support to another candidate that is on the extreme end of the divide. The singer took to his Twitter page to ask entertainers to speak out and cause their voices to be heard. He asserted that, as celebrities, they have the power to effect change and cause truth to reign once more.
