Listen to any religious speaker and you are sure to hear the words hope and faith. Even within self help circles these words and thrown around and used on a regular basis. Sadly though, I don’t believe that most people understand them or use them properly.
Hope and faith are two words that we should all have within our vocabulary. More importantly, we should know what these words mean and how they effect us and our ability to create and live the life of our dreams. Few people ever take the time to understand the power of the words they use, and how those words relate to them.
Let’s start with faith. Faith is a term that is often thrown around, especially among religious groups. Sadly I hear the word faith followed by the word blind far to often. In my honest opinion, we should never have blind faith which is following something simply because someone else tells us to or simply because something or someone believes it’s best for us.
Instead, we must learn to gather as much information as possible about that which we are to have faith in. Then, and only then, are we able to place faith in something. Faith is placing trust in that which we cannot see. It does not mean that we must blindly trust, and we never should.
We must learn to gather information on whatever path we are to follow and then have faith that if we walk the path we will get the results. I never ask people to have blind faith in the things that I teach. I want them to gather information about the law of attraction, the elements, and other things that I teach and apply the information that I teach. I ask them to try what I offer and watch for results and if they don’t get results to move on. Faith is simply taking the time to gather that information and start moving forward and paying attention to the results, then making a mature, educated decision based on the information gathered.
Hope is another powerful word that we must all learn to use. In order to have faith and start looking for a path to follow we must first have hope. Hope is a driving force that things will be better, that things can be better. Hope gives us purpose. It keeps us alive. It drives us, inspires us, and moves us to do and have more.
The reason that so many people get to the top of society and end up killing themselves through the use of drugs and alcohol is simple. They ended up with everything we are told to have and be, and yet they feel lost and empty. They lose their hope for something bigger, better, more valuable and important.
We must all have hope and faith in life and develop a personal relationship to these words. These words move us forward. They lift us and give us the drive to do more, be more, and have more for ourselves. Develop hope and faith within yourself. Faith in your ability to improve your life, and the hope for something better.
