Wizkid, Burna Boy, Yemi Alade make Liverpool star’s music playlist

Gini Wijnaldum, Liverpool’s midfielder, has shared his Spotify playlist on social media, with a number of Nigerian music superstars making the list.

The Liverpool player took to his Twitter page on Sunday to share the star-studded list of songs drawn across the globe.

Some of the Afrobeats tracks that made the list are Wizkid’s ‘Ghetto Love’, Burna Boy’s ‘African Giant’ and ‘Yaji’, Yemi Alade’s collaboration with Slimcase and Brainee.

Davido’s name also appeared on the list for his feature with Russell Vitale, American rapper better known as Russ, for the song “All I Want”.

After dropping the list, the Holland international also asked his followers to suggest new music that he can vibe to on the list.

“Drop me your music suggestions for the upcoming matches. These are the latest tracks on my playlist,” he wrote on Twitter.

The development further showed the popularity and acceptability of the country’s music on the global stage.

In August, ‘Iron Man’, a single  by Rema, Mavin Record’s singer, featured on Barack Obama’s 2019 summer playlist.

Paul Pogba, Manchester united midfielder, and Maria Salaues, his girlfriend, were recently spotted in a video vibing to Burna Boy’s song ‘Gbona’, off his ‘African Giant’ album.
