The Avocado Society of Nigeria has announced the appointment of Adeniyi Bunmi as its new chief executive officer.
Bunmi, who is the founder of Gogreen Impact Africa Initiative, is to preside over the affairs of the association for the next five years, the association said in a statement published on its website.
AVOSON is the national association of avocado farmers, packers and exporters in Nigeria.
The association said it has a vision of generating seedlings for over 3000 acres of farmland across the avocado producing states of Nigeria, adding that it works in partnership with different international avocado associations, to participate in the global avocado trade.
The appointment of the new CEO is coming at a time when the association is taking giant strides in the commercialisation of Hass avocado production, processing and export in Nigeria, AVOSON added.
The statement noted that Bunmi is an agribusiness development coach and a certified value chain expert with a passion for agricultural advocacy.
